Preliminary Results on Who Was in Charge for Converting Legacy Content to DITA and More!

Our online survey “How Do You Convert Your Legacy Content to DITA?” is still on, and we want to share with you another portion of preliminary results that we are getting.

We asked our respondents if they had to rewrite or restructure their legacy content as a part of the conversion process. We gave several statements and asked survey participants to select the one that describes their situation the best. Most of the people (63.5%) answered that they had to rewrite or restructure a significant amount of legacy content to make it fit DITA requirements. 32.7% responded that their legacy content mostly match DITA requirements, but some minor rewriting/restructuring needed.

On the chart below you can see the graphical representation of the answers.

We were also interested to know who was in charge for the conversion. 58% said that the conversion has been done internally. 14% answered that the conversion has been done mostly by them with a little help from an external consultant. And only 10% noticed that an external consultant was in charge for the entire process.
